Your greatest decision:

Today you may feel like you are alone and helpless...like your life is filled with hopelessness and despair. There is Help and Hope—His Name is Jesus. He died for you to have a close relationship with the God who created the universe (1 Peter 3:18). Your first step is to realize and admit that you are weak and need help. The next is to believe that Jesus is the only One who can help. Next you make a decision to turn your will and life over to His care. As you do this, pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I am weak and need Your help. I believe that You died for me and You were raised from the dead three days later. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins and give me Your gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23). I surrender control of my life to You. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and set me free from my addictions. Thank You Jesus for saving me and giving me eternal life.

Our Program:

  • Christ-Centered Cognitive Restructuring: The client develops and implements a strategy for effectively dealing with thoughts and emotions.

  • Christ-Centered Relapse Prevention Therapy: The client is assisted in developing strategies to discover early relapse warning signs before they lead to cravings which lead to active use.

  • “Search for Peace” Anger Management Classes: The client learns to deal with un-forgiveness that leads to anger and is assisted in developing an effective plan to deal with secondary emotions that produce anger.

  • Conquering Addictive Living: The client learns and begins to implement the Christ-centered twelve steps to recovery from various addictions and lifestyles.

Three Basic Types of Christian Addiction Rehabilitation Services

There are several different types of Christian Rehabs or Faith based Recovery programs.

1) The first is a 100% Christian based program that has little medical and/or western therapies such as clinical counseling or credentialed staff members. Also known as a Christian Social Model Recovery program, it is essentially a center ran by recovering Christians.

2) The second type of Faith based or Christian Addiction Rehab is a “work based” addiction rehab, also known as a vocational rehab. Salvation Army and Teen Challenge are examples of this. Generally free cost to the client, the Christian is asked to work 8-12 hours per day to offset the cost of their stay. Daily prayer and Bible Study are also used.

3) The third type of Christian Addiction Rehabilitation often combines different types of addiction rehabilitation services, including Christ-centered counseling, addiction therapy and standard professional approaches. Generally regarded as more successful, this type of rehabilitation utilizes a combination of Faith-based rehabilitation and credentialed Christian counseling or therapy. A Christian track or focus is utilized to rehabilitate many different elements of addiction.

This is the type of rehabilitation provided at Freedom Counseling Services. All of our counselors are certified addiction counselors either with Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (www.gaca.org) or Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board of Georgia (www.adacbga.org). Our Director is a Certified Clinical Supervisor, thus all of our interns are pursuing addiction counselor certification. All counselors and interns are also required to pursue certification as Relapse Prevention Specialists through CENAPS (www.cenaps.com).
